Remember your
school days? Required
courses, class
elections, social
issues, and football
games. Best friends,
great cars, hot shoes,
Friday nights, and first
dates.
Looking through your old
yearbook, you'll remember
even more! Those hairstyles!
The music! It's hard to believe
it really happened. Time just
flipped by so quickly.
Just as time passes, so did
items like peace symbols and
tie-dyed duds. Today, the only
thing worried about was
remembering the notes for
tomorrow's test. But in 10
years, today will be a memory.
Bring those memories back with
the '91 Challenge.

All the signs of summer
were present. Heat, sun,
green grass, and kids in
school uniform. What?
Uniforms already? Oh, it
was the incoming
Freshmen . They came to
school early to participate
in Freshmen Fun Day.
They're day started at
8 :00 AM with bookbuying
and the taking of l.D .
pictures. At noon they all
gathered in the courtyard
for "fun", games, and a
picnic lunch. What a great
way to begin a new school
year in a new school.

We've Patched Up Our Differences
During the Elkhorn Retreat,
the Seniors celebrated All
Saints Day, and during
Father Brian's homily, he
talked about love. The story
he told was about his nieces
and nephews who were
fascinated by a prism which
hung in the kitchen window .
They tried to grab the colors
and were unaware of the
source of these colors. The
source, of course, was the
sun which shines white light
into the prism, which
separates it into the various
colors . The different colors
symbolized the group
individually and the white
light was the group as a
whole. He also reminded us
that we love many people,
but sometimes we forget the
source of this love-God .

When asked what he will remember the

Coach Sego's Earth Science class was literally a
Wild Kingdom. There were several different animals
the class of 17 had to take care of. There were
rabbits, chickens, mice, gerbals, turtles, and an
iguana. Each group of two was assigned a animal
unless you wanted to bring your own in. Everone
had to raise their own individual chicken and keep a
log on it.
When the students in the class found out what
was going on, they were excited about the idea of
taking care of pets . The rabbits were to be cleaned
everyday, and the floors were to be swept and
mopped . There also grew plants and had to do
assignments in class.
Obviously, Mr. Sego has expressed an interest in
breeding rabbits . After all, he bought the rabbits,
cages, food, bedding, and also bought the chickens .
The class had up to about 20 rabbits . The class was
definitely a change, but it was enjoyable for
everyone.

EGG CHILDREN
The senior class got the special priviledge of participating
in the egg baby project in Religion class. For a week and a
half they chose partners and became parents. They were
not only given the title of "parents," but had to take on full
responsibility for their babies. They comforted them, gave
them clothes, and even sang to them. It was the type of
project that teached them some of the responsibilities they
will encounter later in life.

Jesus Appears
As I walked up the steps of Mt. Carmel Church, I got a weird
feeling in my stomach that felt like nerves. What was I nervous
about? Maybe it was because I was walking up to the church
that appeared to have a figure of Jesus.
As I entered, I saw a crowd of people standing on one side of
the church talking and pointing to an area of the wall. Of
course I was a little skeptical, but I really wanted to see the
figure that everyone else from Madison to Chicage came to
see .
Men and women were pointing out features of the figure to
me, and I must admit I saw the shadow-like-figure . It had a
gaunt-looking face of a man whom we would describe as
Jesus. He seemed to be holding a chalice in his hands .
I sat and stared at it for a long while, lit a candle and left. As I
was driving home I was thinking of some explanation of what it
was I saw . I couldn't come to any scientific conclusions besides
a dirty wall or the power of suggestion, but it made me feel
good to arrive at the personal conclusion that what I saw was
real and true.

SINATRA AND MICHEAL; BUTIING IT OUT
At a July 25th San Diego Padres

recipients to hear Roseanne Barr

Topping off her 'off-key'

grabbed her crotch . She saw it as a

others, ranging from a Padres

United States, were deeply
offended .

SADDEM HUSSEIN
Hussein was visited by Mohammed In a dream on a late
October evening. According to the account Hussein told the
officials that, "the prophet showed himself to me in my dream
dressed In white, and I could feel his disquietude."
The paper said Hussein confided to his deputies that
Mohammed tJad told him: "Your missles, oh Hussein, are
pointed In the wrong direction."
Hussein is quoted as saying: "'What is the direction you
want, 0 prophet of the Lord?' I asked and he replied, 'You
know the direction and you should correct it.'"
Hussein then reportedly said, "Suddenly the prophet
disappeared, and It seemed he only came to make that
