New Lancer Coach
Brings Great Season
The 1981 season was a memorable one. Coach
Bob Freund led the Lancers to a 5-4 season. After a
disastrous season last year, this year's team showed
much character. Dave Fiorini had 10 touchdowns
altogether. Steve Schaefer led the team in tackles
and was named M.V.P. Steve Neiman was named
captain for the 1982 season. Kevin Mayew broke the
record for pass receiving with 7 in one game. Jack
Bianchi also played a key factor in the outstanding
defense.

Sophomores Go 4-4
The sophomore team was coached by Mark Aesop
and Dave Stephani. Their record this year was 4-4, a
vast improvement over last year's record of 2-4. A
12-0 victory over Catholic Memorial clinched a .500
season. The passing combination of J. Jaraczewski
to ends T. Stell, S. Fuhrmann, P. Anderson, and R.
Wojtak proved to be both explosive and the main
component of the sophomore offense. Leading the
defense were F. Matrise, J. J., T. Stell, S. Fuhrmann,
M. Kane and B. Brudvig. The football coaching staff
is looking for the same power in the sophomores as
they move up to the winning varsity next year.

Key Club
For the second year, Key Club is the largest club in
the history of the school. The club sponsors many activities such as masses, bake sales, car washes, a
poster contest and a teacher appreciation week.
They donated a Christmas tree to decorate the lobby.
For the third year in a row they held a Rocking Chair
Marathon and gave the money they received by
sponsors to M.S., because this year is the Year of the
Handicapped. Key Club's big service project was to
take two buses of mentally retarded to the Shrine circus. Much of the club's success is attributed to its
leaders: Moderator: Mrs. Hubbard, President: Gina
Capelli, Vice-President: L. Boynewicz, Secretary: L.
Trainer, Sergeant at Arms: M. McTernan.

This year's book has taken on many changes in the
form and style of the book. It has been very challenging and very worthwhile. I would like to give special
thanks to our Advisor, Mr. Andacht, and the great
staff who put in many hours of hard work to make the
book so successful. I would also like to thank all the
people who supported our staff throughout the year.
We couldn't have done it without you or the cooperation and dedication of our Patrons and Purchasers.
Sincerely, Mary Lendman , Editor.

Alumni
The Alumni of St. Joseph 's are a special group who share a common Catholic Education and the memories of many special occasions. They still remain close to St. Joe's through an active participation in Homecoming, Class reunions, and a yearly alumni
retreat.
LORIWe miss the dazzling smile,
The memories of retreats shared,
The warm embrace,
Cheers for the guys,
The love you so freely gave,
The sharing of pain,
The bubbly laugh,
Relaxed conversations ...
But mostly Lori, we miss you.
In memory of Lori Teunas, a beloved
member of the St. Joseph family.
