Women Unite In Sub-Deb
This years Sub Deb members were very busy. Club
members worked very hard in building the first-place
homecoming float. Members sold kazoo's for football
and basketball games. They sent food baskets to needy
families for Thanksgiving. Members also held the annual
Sub Deb winter formal, "Frosted Fantasy."

Hi- Style, a girls service club, tried desperately
to get more members, nevertheless the twenty girls
did many things during the school year. They had a
fall initiation and a fall banquet. The club donated
a Thanksgiving basket for a needy family. They
also sponsored parents night at a home basketball
game, and the members went Christmas caroling.

The Future Secretary's consists of Senior girls from
the two advanced stenography classes taught by Mrs.
Gober and Miss Campbell who are also the advisors of
the club. The club's money raising projects were selling
taffy apples, selling carnations on Valentines and St.

Many people are skeptical as to what forensics actually is. Forensics is the art of
speech and debate. The members of a forensic team each compete in their selective categories on an individual or group basis. Some
forensic categories are: prose reading, poetry,
play-acting, original oratory, and readers theater. The competitor speaks before a judge
who then critiques him over a number of
different points. The forensic team at Bradford is similiar to any athletic team. Its members compete at the sub district, district, and
state levels. To successfully advance to the
next competition a competitor must achieve
an "A" or superior rating. Fourteen students
from Bradford advanced to the state competition where seven received "A's" and seven
received "B's".
Inferno Gets A New Look
Mr. Ramey, adviser
Hi, my name is Jeff.
The Inferno put out 12 papers this year, and did some
new things, too. This summer they sent students to jourmalism seminars, and for the first time a "Back-toSchool" issue will be published. The adviser, Mr. Ramey, was new also. The club did namy money raising
activities such as putting on dances, sponsoring the Faculty vs. WRKR basketball game, and held car washes.

Bradford by. The Spy had to make up for the deficit from last
year so they had to work hard to raise money. Some money
raising projects were bake sales, car washes, and putting a
dance on. The staff hopes that you will enjoy and charish your
spy for many years to come.

Coach Bob Christ Resigns As Head Coach
Coach Bob Christ, head football coach for the Bradford
Red Devils, offered his resignation of head football coach
officially on Wednesday, November 9, as it appeared in .the
Kenosha News.
Christ coached 3 years at Bradford and compiled records of
l and 8, 0 and 9, and 2 and 7 for the years 1975, 1976, 1977.
When asked why he resigned his answer was, "I feel I have
no support from the players or their parents. I also feel the
players will not listen to what I say, so the program cannot
improve. I gave them off-season weight training program but
hardly anyone showed up."
Christ also added, the team has natural talent and can play
football for anybody, but the team does not stick together.
Bradford Spy would like to wish, Coach Christ the Best of
luck and also the next Red Devil Head Coach, which is unamed at this time.
Coach Bob Christ will resign as head football coach this year after a 2-7
season; Christ's best season in 3 years at Bradford.

department. Although the department is squeezed
into three small crayon boxes, they seem to manage
very well. Courses are available in basic, intermediate
and advanced art. The teachers provide such inspiration that pencils and brushes fly across pages of paper,
and the pottery wheels spin fast enough to power half
of Kenosha.

navigate through any assignment.

The Physical Education department have been attempting to promote a good understanding of popular sports and
good sportsmanship. With limited space and time, they
have still managed to make you break a sweat. Miss MacArthur has completed a successful year teaching as well as
coaching at a junior high. The SPY would like to extend a
special thanks to the Physical Education department for
their help in raising funds for this publication.

After a full year of teaching, the Bradford Science department still manages to crack a smile. Everyday their students,
were greeted with smiles, information, ad occasional tests.
Although the lab was crowded and the seats were hard, the
department has attracted many students. Classes were offered
in diverse areas, such as Chemistry, Biology, Earth Science
and Physics.

Stepping Up to the Stars was the theme for Homecoming 1977. During the week,
Booster Club sponsored special activities for each of the days. Also, AFS sponsored a
sexiest legs contest for our King candidates. Friday morning, Becky Perez and Tim
McGonegle were crowned King and Queen in front of the student body. After school
the cheerleaders sold balloons. At 6:30, the Homecoming parade traveled for the first
time ever down 22nd Avenue to Anderson Field in spite of the icy winds and pouring
rain. To make it an evening worth remembering, our team united to defeat Whitefish
Bay, 21-12. Saturday evening, students assembled in the gym for the traditional
Homecoming dance. Tim and Becky reigned over the festivities and Datillo provided
the music.
Due to the stormy weather and icy
winds, our photographer was unable to
take any good pictures of the game or
the parade. Please accept our apologies.

Student Council had a lunch for the guest speakers.
Students had a chance to break the routine
of going to dull, boring classes, as Student
Council presented "Mini-Course Day." Students and teachers had the chance to look
into new areas such as sky-diving and ballroom disco-dancing, as well as get educated
by medical and history (or herstory) experts.
Many kids had the chance to check into their
chosen field. It was a worthwhile day.

The city of Kenosha made history
when the voters passed a referendum
allowing the school district to remodel
and build onto Reuther Alternative.
The school will be completed and
opened by the fall of 1980. The success
of the campaign was partially due to the
fantastic leadership of Al DeSimone
and his selected chairpersons. The students of the city also worked hard to
make a new school a reality.

B-Club sponsored Student-Faculty night, Friday, April 7th. The evening started
with Women's Volleyball featuring the teachers vs. the students. The senior girls
won both games. The basketball game was well matched; six senior men vs. an
aging faculty. Youth prevailed as they out-ran the faculty in the second-half. The
play by play was called by Barb Osborne, this year's announcer, and Diane
Selovich, next year's announcer. Referees Gary Andreucci and Barry Bennett
called the plays. After the game, King Chat and Golden Throat Roders played
D.J. at an all school dance.

The Drama Club presented an emotion filled play called "David and Lisa."
The play dealt with teenagers and mental illness. Mike Mullane, David, was a

Kim Wendricks, Lisa, was never loved.

emotionally and are on their way to recovery together. The play was directed
by Colleen Riley and Gary Shaver.

On Sunday, May 14th, the Bradford Band once again filled
the auditorium with beautiful music in its annual Spring Concert. But this concert was special. The band practiced long,
hard hours after school and on weekends. But it was worth it;
the guest soloist for this concert was "Doc" Severinson. Many
times during the concert, Severinson commented about how
professionalour band played . It was a great concert and an
experience not to be forgotten.

The 1978 Prom was entitled "A Time for Us." Scenes depicting the four seasons set the
mood and a huge four-faced clock decorated the ballroom floor. Couples arrived around 8
o'clock and danced to the music of Jack Yorton's Orchestra. At ten was the coronation and
couples began to drift over to the Lake Theater to see "The Three Musketeers" or to catch
up on sleep. Next came the Afterglow sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. Couples ate and
danced to the excellent music of "Desperados." The evening ended with a glorius sun rising
over Lake Michigan .

Al Molinaro came back to Bradford High School at the special
request of counselor Virginia Tenuta. Bradford students listened to
stories about Bradford when Al was a student here. The biggest
point Al made was that education is important. That same night, Al
was the guest of honor at the Ten Most Wanted Men dance. He
crowned Doug Simonson as the Most Wanted Man.
Unfortunately, there are no pictures of Doug, or the runners up. Some
