  • 468D Shorewood Improvement Association Misc 1998-1999
    Various old records of the Shoreview Improvement Association. This association is the incorporated body that administrates the common areas of the platted neighborhood. This is a rare situation in the Town of Salem in that the neighborhood created an incorporated entity to function as the administrator of a property that defines the lot owners as the divisional interest owners. The deed of the common property defines the ownership. The individual lot owner deeds do not define ownership. Almost all of the association property is in flood zone. There is also a 1ft strip on the eastern side of the subdivision, east of the 267th Avenue right of way.

  • 695 Salem Liberty Cemetery Helpers 1913-1920
    Handwritten ledger of the activities of the Liberty Cemetery Helpers Society by Maude S Robbins Secretary. She had impeccable handwriting. The book includes expenses, annual reports, member names, listings of sales, donations, work done in the cemetery. As a note, Maude was a Stewart and was the second wife to Mr Herbert Robbins, whose family farmed the land known as the Spring Valley Golf Course at Hwy C and STH 93. There are a great number of early names in the book as active participants.

  • 779 Pacey Livery Ledger 1904
    The book is an original ledger of 596 pages. Only a few of the pages were used and those have been scanned herein. The entries are for rental of single horses, teams, buggies and then later bicycles. The Pacey Barn was immediately west of the Masonic Temple in Wilmot. The original book was given to the Western Kenosha County Historical Society by Sue McCrae, a Pacey relation. In addition, a buffalo robe (blanket was given by Sue to the Society from the Pacey Livery.
