• 365 Stoxen Poetry on Wilmot and Trevor

  Poetry regarding Wilmot and Trevor by Raymond Stoxen who lived in Wilmot on Cty CF, west of Cty W on the north side. Ray told me that generally his poems took him 45 minutes to write. Often he would wake up, go to the computer and type them out. He'd print them and they'd debut at Linda's Wilmot Cafe, his daily location for meals at least once a day. There are other booklets of his work. Regarding specifically the "HISTORY OF WILMOT" - I sat with Ray and videotaped his comments about some of the areas noted in the poems that I did not understand and which needed clarity to those who did not grow up here. He was remarkable. Ray is buried at Wilmot Cemetery.

• 182 Baethke Genealogy of Trevor

  This collection includes genealogy information and images of the Baethke (Pronounced as BET KEY) family who arrived early in the Hamlet of Trevor and started a Hotel (1908 era) on Railroad street, Operated a creamery before it burned down, operated an Opera House (2012 is Towne Square), operated another tavern called the Baethke Tavern (aka 2012 Foxy's) and lived in the hamlet. One of their earliest homes is the second house South of the Old Town Highway Garage and in 2012 is owned by the Barhyte Family. It was on this property that the creamery stood. The Baethke family catered to the rail yards and the auction house workers and visitors. The Baethke Family sold their holdings in the Opera House but eventually had to return to salvage their interest. They were from Illinois and there is still family residing in Illinois. There are no longer any Baethke people in the local area.

• 323B Sabin Store Ledger Wilmot 1873-1875

  The store is presumed to be at the location of the Kruckman Store which existed at the 2014 Fox River Spirits location This book is handwritten in pencil by an unknown person but presumably a Sabin or employee. The document was written in fountain ink and is clear but is very faint and hard to read.

Galloway, both of whom were at the battle. There is a website dedicated to this lA Orang four day battle.   This document is a copy of the paper written by Andrew Fennema whose family lived at the farm that was at ECHO LANE on AH. It has footnotes for material sources but is also filled with opinions of a young man which, with today's information, may not be supported. Still, it is of great value because it was written by a person who lived here and was part of the farming industry and retail activities of the time.

  Coronation of Queen Elizabeth and the death of King George. These materials were given to the Western Kenosha County Historical Society in Jan. 2013 by Ethlyn Dean Reynolds. In 2014, the booklet was worth on Amazon at $25.00.
• 428 Ray Stoxen Poetry

  Poems written by Wilmot resident, Raymond Stoxen. Ray wrote many of these upon waking in the morning and told Valentine that they seldom took more than 45 minutes to write. This was an ability he developed later in life. He lived actually in Town of Randall off of south W, west on CK. He was a daily visitor to Linda' Wilmot Cafe in downtown Wilmot. He sat with Linda Valentine and did a video interview using the Wilmot Poems as the guide where he explained all the questions that Linda had of the words. It was a wonderful visit. Ray is buried in Wilmot Cemetery. One item he had in his personal collection was a large meteor that he found in his farm fields.

Graveside Services with Military Honors by the Ainsworth American Legion Post #79 were held on May 25, 2013 for Merritt A. Plantz. Pastor Eldon Davis officiated over the service. Special remarks were given by daughter Chris Shriver. Hoch Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
