This book has been totally handwritten and likely in a fountain pen. local names are throughout including payments to business and teacher and individual for services. Reference on page 94 of moving the school house at a cost of $12.00 in 1893. Reference on page 96 for building another schoolhouse to H F Orvis in a partial payment $400.00. On page 127, 1907 there is an entry that $150 was borrowed from Julia A Smith. Also noted are some names of individuals in elected positions and references to businesses they owned and services they rendered. Note to researchers: If your family member was in this area between the above noted years, it will be worth your while to review page by page looking for reference to your person.
